There’s something unforgettable about a wedding that fully leans into personality. Cora and John did exactly that with their Halloween wedding at Centerville Mill Park, and I had the honor of creating a live wedding painting in Cleveland, Ohio that brought the entire night together in one scene.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a wedding. It was an experience.
Cora and John invited their guests to come dressed in costume, and they didn’t stop there. They encouraged their vendors to join in too, which made the entire day feel playful, immersive, and honestly just really fun to be a part of. I dressed as a mermaid while I painted, of course. (they’re my favorite!) My team photographer, Marah, who was capturing the wedding alongside me, came as a jellyfish. It added such a lighthearted and memorable layer to the experience, not just for us, but for the guests watching the painting come to life.
As a live wedding painter, this kind of energy is everything.

Instead of painting a single moment like a first dance or ceremony kiss, I had the opportunity to capture something bigger. The entire group. A sea of personalities, colors, and costumes, all gathered in the brisk, Autumn air that Cleveland gives us during fall!
It turned into a painting that feels almost like a storybook scene.

Cora and John gave me full creative freedom with this painting, which allowed me to really lean into the Halloween atmosphere and push the piece beyond just a traditional wedding scene.
I intentionally deepened the mood by adding dark, dramatic skies and a glowing, almost eerie moonlight that cast across the entire painting. That contrast became the foundation of the piece.
From there, I brought everything to life through small, intentional pops of color throughout the guests. Subtle highlights reflecting that moonlight on their faces and costumes helped each figure feel illuminated and alive within the scene.
It became less about simply documenting what the day looked like, and more about translating the feeling of it. Something immersive, a little haunting, and full of personality.

If you’re considering a live wedding painting in Cleveland, Ohio, this kind of full-scene artwork is such a special way to preserve not just how your wedding looked, but how it felt.
It allows you to capture:
Especially with a themed wedding like this, it becomes something truly one-of-a-kind.
