For Erika and George’s wedding at Briarwood Golf Club, I had the honor of live painting their first kiss during the ceremony, one of the most meaningful moments of the day.

The ceremony took place outside by the stone fireplace at Briarwood, surrounded by lush greenery and soft floral arches. Just before the ceremony began, a storm started to roll in, filling the sky with the prettiest blue-toned clouds. Luckily, it only sprinkled for a bit and the ceremony still went on outdoors. That soft, moody sky ended up being such a perfect way to get the ball rolling and absolutely got my creativity inspired!

I always arrive a little early to set up and start on the background before guests arrive. By the time people start taking their seats, I like to have the setting sketched and the first layers of color down. This way, everyone gets to see the fun parts of the painting unfold, not my messy sketches and chaos (lol).
Once the ceremony begins, that’s when I begin to paint in the couple. It’s such a special moment to capture in real time, surrounded by all the emotion and energy of the day.

Guests always love to come by and see what I’m working on, and honestly, I love that part just as much. People often apologize for “distracting me,” but it’s not a distraction at all. I enjoy chatting with everyone, especially the kids and grandparents. It’s always so sweet when someone shares their own love for art or tells me about a creative hobby they enjoy. Live painting is about more than just the artwork; it’s an experience for everyone there.

Erika and George booked our Best of Both Worlds package, which includes both live painting and photography through Arastasia Photography. While I was painting, Marah from our team was capturing all the moments through her photography. It’s such a great balance for couples because they get both a one-of-a-kind painting and a full set of photos that tell their complete story.
You can see more of Marah’s beautiful work here!

At the end of the night, I got to show Erika and George their painting, and their reaction made my whole heart so happy. They were genuinely shocked in the best way, smiling, emotional, and so excited to see their moment captured on canvas. Seeing their joy and hearing how much it meant to them was the perfect ending to such a beautiful day.

If you’re interested in having a live wedding painting, I’d love to be part of your day. You can learn more about the process and what’s included here. If you’re ready to chat or have any questions, feel free to reach out through my contact form. I’d be so excited to create something special that captures your moment in a way that lasts forever.
