In this article, you’ll find a variety of different ideas that you will help you decide on a vision for your session. I REALLY enjoy to show my couples love language, and their personalities in my sessions, and additionally i love for engagement sessions to feel unique and special for my clients.

So, by all means, feel free to suggest some elements or locations for your session that really say “THIS is us”, and I would be happy to come up with a custom plan for you!

Golden Hour session in a field / in nature

If you want that dreamy look for your engagement photos that says whimsical and romantic, I highly recommend choosing a golden hour session.

I can recommend a few different parks that I know have gorgeous lighting, lots of nature to work with.

Golden Hour engagement pictures at the beach

One of the major perks of Cleveland, Ohio is we are right on the Great Lakes! I don’t recommend mid-day sessions for anything at the beach, because the lighting can be VERY harsh, however, I do love to photograph a beautiful sunset, or wake up early enough for a sunrise session!

Date Night engagement photos at a local brewery, bar, or winery

I LOVE doing a session at a location that allows for you to feel like you’re having a date night. I always tell my couples, “I want you to feel like you’re hanging with a friend, not a random lady with a camera!”

If you have a special place that you go to for dates.. or that you first met at… etc. By all means, we can incorporate this into your session. If you do not, I have quite a few that I can recommend based on the vibe we are going for!

Engagement pictures Adventuring around the city

In this type of session we will adventure around Cleveland, or another local city that has importance to you or your story. I’ll mention a starting location, and as the session goes on, I will stop you for photo-ops, guide you to areas that are very photogenic, and you will have quite the variety of poses and scenery in your engagement gallery.

Rainy Day Engagement Photos

Cleveland weather can be unpredictable, but that never stops me from having an amazing time with you at your session. I’ve had quite a few couples that decided to roll with it, and we created some absolute magic in the rain!

Morning lighting engagement session

Morning light is going to be a little bit different from sunset lighting. You’re going to see a brighter color scheme, and you won’t have that warm glow of a sunset. I encourage morning sessions if you have a tight schedule, or if the location you’re envisioning has better lighting (or less people… like the location below) in the morning time! I like to start morning sessions as early as you’ll allow me. (lol) If we start as the sun is rising, we can still get that warm “sunset glow” that you see in other photos. However, if we don’t do that I recommend we start around 9 am, before the sun is very high and bright in the sky!

Picnic at the Park engagement photos with champagne or snacks

Having a picnic is another wonderful way to make a date night of your photos. I’ve had many clients go this route and pack some champagne to pop and make cheers to, and our session always ends up being a romantic blast.

I can recommend different locations, once again based on our timing, and the vibe you’re going for!
